Session Description:
Positive Confrontation is one of the most important skills a manager and an HR manager must possess.
People are, by their nature, conflict-averse. For many, confrontation is uncomfortable, causes anxiety in the person that is confronting another and it often results in—at the least—defensiveness on the part of the party being confronted, or even worse—anger and/or disruptive behaviors.
This aversion to confronting problem behavior most often leads to denial that a problem exists, procrastination and/or outright refusal to deal with it. The result is a toxic work environment where there are no boundaries and no accountability.
This presentation will discuss some of the proven skills and techniques that effective managers employ to ensure people can discuss challenges in relationships that are effective, dignified and respectful.
This program is pending approval for PDC/Credit with SHRM & HRCI
